To make use of network data coming from other systems, such as geographical information systems, Phase to Phase can tailor the Visiconv program for this purpose. This program can convert network data in a certain format into Vision network files. Often, the network data is delivered as text files. In a few cases, the network data is extracted directly from a database.
Since the network files are in text format, it is possible to produce a network file yourself, outside Vision.

Apart from these conversion functions, Visiconv also contains a number of functions that are related to Vision, but so specific or ad hoc that they are not included in Vision.
To this end, Visiconv can read Vision network files into memory, perform operations and save them again as network files.
